Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Gardener/Grounds Maintenance operative to join the K G Smith and Son team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing gardens, woodlands, over seeing vegetable plots and retaining a high standard to the outdoor landscapes at K G Smith and Son.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for landscaping and gardening. The position involves working outdoors in various weather conditions, mostly working individually but can working as part of small team.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and care for gardens, lawns, trees and flowerbeds using hand tools and power tools.
  • Perform general landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, edging, weeding, and leaf clearance.
  • Undertake general maintenance of land boundaries such as fence painting.
  • Identify and carry our seasonal jobs, such as planting and maintaining vegetable plot.
  • Keeping the working yard clear to the best of their ability.
  • Maintain equipment in good working order through regular cleaning and basic repairs.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment at all times

Skills

  • Proven experience in gardening or landscape maintenance is desirable.
  • Experience with hand tools and power tools is preferred.
  • Be able to work individually or as part of a small team
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism.
  • Physical fitness to perform manual labour tasks.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Good communication skills.
