Introduction
Office plant and interior landscaping company Inleaf are looking for an installation and maintenance technician to join their growing team.
The role
The role involves installing and maintaining living plant displays at our clients’ sites to ensure they are healthy and attractive; watering, feeding and pruning the plants. Also assembling and installing other displays such as living walls, moss walls, Christmas displays and artificial arrangements.
This is a fun and varied role within an existing friendly and supportive team.
Main activities include:
- Assembling new displays at our HQ
- Installing new schemes, displays and wall units
- Safe use of hand tools and power tools (e.g. cordless drill, mitre saw)
- Attending to clients’ site to maintain our living plant displays
- Ensuring plant displays are healthy and attractive
- Installing and replacing plants where necessary (some displays may be heavy)
- Using our software system to complete job reports
- Installing Christmas trees and decorations during the festive period
- Working on larger projects, such as exterior living wall installations
- Working in line with our health and safety measures
- Mainly van-based, working alone or as part of a team
- Working from 07:30 to 16:00 Monday to Friday (overtime also available)
- Travel and working away with accommodation and expenses
- Initial salary between £29,000 per year (£14.00 per hour for 40 hours per week plus extra payments and expenses during overnight stays)
- Overnight stay allowance of £25-£30 per night, plus meal allowances of up to £25 per night.
The ideal candidate
This is a client- facing role, so a positive, professional and friendly outlook is essential.
We are committed to providing the best possible service to our clients. As our ideal candidate you will take individual pride in your work and relish the opportunity to work in an environment where this quality is valued.
An interest in plants and experience and knowledge of tropical/indoor plants is advantageous but not required. Instead a continued desire to learn, improve and develop is most important.
As the role is mainly van based, a full license and competent and confident driving ability is essential - particularly in city centres and over long distances. Good timekeeping and organisation are important to the role too.
Required skills/attributes
- Friendly and professional manner
- A positive and can-do attitude
- Comfortable driving long distances and in city centres
- OK working at heights
- Able to solve problems and use your own initiative
Company & location
The role is based from our our 5,000sqft head office in Chorley, Lancashire and in the field, servicing clients across the UK. There is therefore a requirement for regular, nationwide travel and working away for clients/projects with travel time, accommodation and an overnight stay allowance paid for by the company.
We're a small, friendly team of people and we're looking for a friendly person with a positive attitude that will be an integral part of our team.
