Full job description

Grantham Gardening is looking for an experienced gardener to join the team!

We are looking for a hard working, determined individual with a green thumb and a passion for the outdoors.

The position can be full/part time depending on requirements.

Grantham Gardening mostly covers properties in North London, (however we have recently expanded into East & West) offering a wide range of maintenance, planting and design services for both domestic and commercial clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • General garden maintenance across domestic and commercial properties
  • Lawn mowing, edging, hedge trimming, pressure washing, pruning, weed control
  • Seasonal planting and border maintenance
  • Leaf clearing, garden tidy-ups/clearances, and waste removal
  • Safe operation and basic maintenance of petrol & battery powered gardening equipment
  • Assisting with soft landscaping and garden improvement projects where required
  • Maintaining high presentation standards on all sites
  • Working efficiently both independently and as part of a team
  • Following health & safety procedures at all times
  • Representing the company professionally on client sites

Required Experience & Skills

  • Previous experience in professional garden maintenance or horticulture
  • Confident using petrol & battery powered gardening equipment including mowers, strimmers, hedge trimmers, and blowers
  • Basic plant knowledge and understanding of seasonal garden care
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Good time management and attention to detail
  • Physically fit and capable of manual outdoor work
  • Full UK driving licence required

The ideal candidate MUST have;

  • Have a full UK driving licence and feel comfortable driving a small van around central/north London.
  • Experience with petrol powered tools - familiar with the operation of petrol powered lawn mowers, hedge trimmers, blowers, strimmers etc.
  • A keen eye for detail - Grantham Gardening prides itself on it's high standard of work - so we expect our employees to maintain this standard too.

The ideal candidate will also ideally have;

  • 2 years Garden Maintenance experience - can include experience from grounds maintenance, tree surgery, gardening or landscaping.

The position is initially for 4 months (September - December), with the potential to continue through the winter depending on the business needs. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable working alone as well as part of a team.

Pay: £15.50 per hour
