This is a varied, year-round outdoor position. During the main lawn-care season, you will carry out professional lawn treatments and improvement work. During autumn and winter, the role will include seasonal garden maintenance, cutting-back and clearance work.

Duties may include:

  • Applying weed and moss treatments to hard surfaces when appropriately qualified
  • Assisting with lawn-drainage installation
  • Pruning shrubs and overgrown bushes
  • Cutting back and trimming hedges and conifers
  • Clearing and turning over borders
  • Raking and removing leaves and seasonal garden waste
  • Carrying out end-of-season garden tidy-ups
  • Undertaking suitable chainsaw work when appropriately qualified and authorised

This is a physically active role involving outdoor work in varying weather conditions, powered machinery, garden-waste handling and driving between jobs.

Experience and qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has relevant lawn-care, gardening, landscaping, forestry, arboriculture or grounds-maintenance experience
  • Has experience operating powered outdoor machinery safely
  • Is reliable, punctual and comfortable working outdoors throughout the year
  • Takes pride in completing work to a high standard
  • Is polite, friendly and professional with customers
  • Can work independently and as part of a small team
  • Can follow risk assessments and safe-working procedures
  • Holds a full, current UK driving licence

Candidates who already hold relevant qualifications will be prioritised.

Qualifications and experience of particular interest include:

  • Recognised chainsaw maintenance and cross-cutting qualifications
  • Recognised chainsaw felling qualifications
  • PA1 and PA6 pesticide application certificates
  • Arboriculture, forestry, horticultural or grounds-maintenance qualifications
  • Professional experience using chainsaws, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, lawnmowers or similar machinery
  • Experience pruning shrubs, cutting hedges and conifers or carrying out garden-clearance work

Please include details of your relevant certificates and expiry dates with your application.

The successful candidate will receive a company induction and familiarisation with our services, equipment and working procedures. We are currently looking for someone with relevant practical experience who can become productive after an appropriate induction period.
