Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Orchard Handyman/Gardener to maintain the health of our orchards and surrounding landscape. The ideal candidate will have practical gardening skills, experience with horticulture, and the ability to operate various tools & equipment. This role offers an opportunity to work outdoors contributing to the upkeep and development of our 160 acre orchards and landscape areas. The ideal candidate would be in charge of spraying the orchards every 10 -12 days (Training and certification can be provided)

Responsibilities

  • Perform general garden maintenance including pruning in the winter months, planting new trees, maintaining smooth headlands, mowing grass, and spraying.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools. Chainsaw license would be beneficial.
  • Assist with landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, power harrowing, rolling, and occasional drainage.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained in good working order and stored safely after use
  • Collaborate with the lady orchard manager to plan seasonal planting and landscape improvements

Skills

  • Tractor driving experience
  • Ability to operate equipment safely
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Physical fitness for outdoor work in varying weather conditions
  • Able to work under instructions as well as using own initiative
  • Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
