Contract Type: Full-time (6-month probation period)

About the Role:

Do you have a creative flare and high attention to detail, vast plant knowledge and previous experience working in High end gardens & Borders? Or maybe you enjoy working in gardens with crisp border/lawn edges and lush deep planting?

We care for a wide variety of gardens weekly, here is a few; Formal Gardens, Walled gardens, topiary & deep borders, roses lined driveway, Rhododendron & Camellia woodland. Does this sound like it could interest you?

We are seeking for a skilled individual to bring forward strong plant knowledge and variety of skills from experience to improve clients gardens. Within this role you will need to be a hard worker with a strong eye for detail, know how to use power tools safely and efficiently, show great self initiative, have the ability to provide a polite and positive customer interaction is a must.

If you enjoy maintaining high end gardens and feel with your Horticultural experience you can bring a lot to the team, you may be the person for us!

With the growth of the teams in time there will be need for an operative to become a team leader. This position I would aim to recruit for internally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain high-end large residential gardens on a weekly basis
  • Carry out lawn care including mowing, scarifying, aerating, top dressing, and fertilising (Can provide in house training)
  • Prune trees, shrubs, and trained climbers (e.g., wisteria) including work at height
  • Weed, mulch, and fertilise beds and borders.
  • Make good array of plant selection for clients borders you work in.
  • Monitor plant health and provide treatments for pests or diseases.
  • Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and garden machinery
  • Load and organise daily tools into the van; van driving is part of the role

Requirements:

  • RHS Level 2 Horticultural Qualification (or equivalent would be brilliant)
  • Full, clean UK driving licence (ability to drive a van essential)
