Overview

East Bridgford Garden Centre

As a Garden Centre horticultural assistant, you’ll help customers choose and care for plants while keeping the garden centre welcoming, organised and well presented. You’ll combine practical gardening and horticulture knowledge with clear communication, supporting customers.

Responsibilities

  • Advise customers on plant selection, care and suitable gardening products, responding helpfully to their questions.
  • Water, maintain and display plants, checking their condition and keeping growing and sales areas tidy.
  • Replenish stock, arrange merchandise attractively and keep displays organised.
  • Work with colleagues to maintain a helpful, consistent service. Your impact: clear, practical plant-care advice helps customers choose suitable plants and care for them confidently.

Skills

Required: Practical gardening and horticulture knowledge, clear communication, English language skills and organisational ability will help you maintain plants, support customers and keep displays in order. Skills can help you assist a wider range of customers; merchandising ability and related experience are useful strengths for presenting products effectively.

Pay: From £12.71 per hour

Expected hours: 42.5 per week
