Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Gardener to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing outdoor green spaces, ensuring they are healthy, attractive, and well-kept. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a keen interest in horticulture and landscape maintenance to develop their skills within a professional environment. The successful applicant will be involved in various gardening tasks, working outdoors in all weather conditions to maintain our beautiful and sustainable landscapes.

Responsibilities

• Planting, pruning, watering, and fertilising plants to promote healthy growth
• Using hand tools such as secateurs, spades, and rakes for garden maintenance
• Operating power tools including lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, and leaf blowers safely and efficiently
• Installing and maintaining irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of plants and lawns
• Managing weed control and pest management programmes to protect plant health
• Assisting with landscape design projects and implementing planting schemes
• Maintaining garden equipment through regular cleaning and servicing
• Ensuring all outdoor areas are tidy, safe, and aesthetically pleasing at all times
• Maintain entrance areas, ceremony areas and garden views used for weddings
• Support the appearance of outdoor seating areas, restaurant facing gardens and leisure centre surroundings

Skills

• Proven experience in gardening or horticulture, with a good understanding of plant care and landscape maintenance
• Proficiency in the use of hand tools and power tools relevant to gardening tasks
• Knowledge of irrigation systems and their installation or repair is desirable
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan daily tasks effectively around hotel events
• Growing experience or formal training in horticulture is advantageous
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions with physical stamina
• Attention to detail and a passion for creating beautiful outdoor spaces

Pay: £12.71 per hour
