Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Grounds Maintenance and Agricultural Contracting Team Leader to oversee and coordinate landscape maintenance, groundskeeping, and agricultural projects. This leadership role involves managing a team of skilled workers to ensure high standards of site upkeep, horticultural care, and construction-related tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, grounds maintenance expertise, and experience with power tools and construction equipment. Your leadership will be instrumental in maintaining safe, attractive, and functional outdoor environments across diverse settings.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team responsible for landscape maintenance, groundskeeping, and agricultural contracting activities.
• Plan and coordinate daily work schedules to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
• Perform or oversee the use of hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment such as excavators to complete tasks efficiently.
• Maintain irrigation systems, ensuring proper operation and timely repairs.
• Conduct routine inspections of sites to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, or areas requiring horticultural intervention.
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and environmental standards.
• Manage equipment maintenance schedules to maximize operational efficiency and longevity.
• Collaborate with clients or project managers to develop scope of work and deliverables for groundskeeping projects.
• Train team members on proper tool use, safety procedures, and best practices in grounds maintenance.

Requirements

• Proven experience in landscape maintenance.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with prior experience managing a team in outdoor or construction environments.
• Mechanical knowledge related to power tools, irrigation systems, excavators, and other landscaping machinery.
• Familiarity with construction processes and experience operating or supervising the use of heavy equipment like excavators.
• Strong understanding of horticultural principles and gardening techniques.
• Ability to perform manual tasks using hand tools effectively.
• Knowledge of safety protocols related to grounds maintenance and construction activities.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects efficiently.
• Good communication skills to lead teams and liaise with clients or stakeholders.
• Keen and willing to work away for extended periods.
