Are you practical, reliable and take pride in your local area?
Join Stirling Council as a Neighbourhood Maintenance Operative and play a key role in keeping our communities clean, safe and welcoming throughout the year.
In this hands-on outdoor role, you’ll support our Land (Neighbourhood) and Roads Services teams to maintain and improve the quality of public spaces across the Stirling area. Whether you’re helping care for parks, open spaces and sports grounds or supporting seasonal and summer service demands, every day brings new challenges and opportunities.
You will represent Stirling Council with professionalism and pride, working flexibly across services to deliver high-quality, place-based support that benefits our residents, visitors and communities.
As part of a dedicated local team, you’ll carry out a variety of outdoor maintenance duties to keep public spaces safe, attractive and well maintained. The role may also include operating vehicles, plant and equipment to support environmental and roads maintenance activities.
What you will do:
- Carry out grounds maintenance tasks such as grass cutting, weeding, litter picking and street sweeping
- Support cemetery teams with non-grave digging duties
- Operate vehicles, plant and equipment safely and in accordance with training
- Work with colleagues, communities and partner services to deliver place-based improvements
- Maintain high standards of customer service and represent Stirling Council professionally
What we are looking for:
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Physical ability to undertake manual outdoor work
- Understanding of health and safety responsibilities
If you’ve got the right skills for the job we want to hear from you. We encourage applications from the right candidates regardless of age (restrictions apply to Modern Apprenticeships), disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, belief or race.
