Overview

As a Garden Maintenance Operative, you’ll care for outdoor spaces through practical, attentive maintenance. You’ll use suitable tools and methods to keep gardens and grounds tidy, healthy and welcoming throughout the growing season.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out gardening and landscape maintenance, including routine groundskeeping and general care of planted areas.
  • Use hand tools and power tools safely and appropriately for maintenance tasks.
  • Check irrigation systems, identify issues and support effective watering of plants.
  • Monitor plant growth and condition, completing routine work carefully and reporting concerns to colleagues.
  • Your impact: well-maintained gardens give visitors attractive, cared-for outdoor spaces and help colleagues keep grounds in good order.

Qualifications

Required: Practical gardening skills, confidence using hand tools and power tools, and the ability to carry out landscape maintenance and groundskeeping tasks with care. You should be able to follow irrigation routines and notice changes in plant condition. Preferred: Growing experience and knowledge of horticulture are useful strengths, as is familiarity with maintaining a range of garden and landscaped areas.

Pay: £10.85-£15.00 per hour
