OVERVIEW:

Big Tree Gardeners has been maintaining residential and commercial gardens across South London for over a decade. We provide high-quality garden services to properties in Bromley, Chislehurst, Beckenham, West Wickham, Croydon and the surrounding area.

We are expanding our business and require a Senior Gardener who can manage one of our gardening teams and drive one of our vehicles between maintenance jobs.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Senior Gardener, you will play an important role in maintaining and enhancing a range of gardens across South London. Your responsibilities will include general gardening duties such as mowing, weeding, trimming and pruning. You will supervise and manage a small crew of one to two gardeners, ensuring that each member performs their duties effectively and efficiently. Additionally, you will interact with our customers, understanding their needs and providing excellent service to keep their gardens thriving.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

We are seeking a professional and dedicated gardener who is serious about their craft and can complement our friendly and cohesive team. The key attributes we are looking for in a candidate are:

Passion for Gardening: Genuine love for plants and gardening.

Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail to ensure high-quality garden aesthetics and plant health.

Hardworking: Dedication and strong work ethic to complete tasks efficiently and effectively.

Reliable: Punctual with good time-keeping skills and dependable in meeting job responsibilities.

Leadership Skills: Experience in managing a small team, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient team performance.

Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with team members and clients, ensuring smooth operations and high customer satisfaction.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2 years minimum gardening experience
  • Good plant knowledge

HOURS & HOLIDAYS:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
  • No weekend work
  • 20 days annual leave, plus bank holidays
  • Mandatory time off over Christmas period

WORK LOCATION:

  • Residential and commercial gardens in South London
