Full job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Greenkeeper to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will take pride in maintaining the course to the highest standards, ensuring a fantastic playing experience for members and visitors alike.

Key Responsibilities

  • Course Maintenance: Perform mowing, aeration, fertilization, and other essential turf care activities to maintain fairways, greens, tees, and roughs.
  • Irrigation: Operate and maintain the irrigation systems, including diagnosing and resolving minor faults.
  • Machinery Use and Maintenance: Safely operate and perform basic maintenance on greenkeeping equipment and machinery.
  • Landscaping: Assist with tree pruning, bunker maintenance, and landscaping to enhance the course's aesthetic and playability.
  • Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe environment for staff and visitors.
  • Team Support: Collaborate with colleagues to complete daily tasks and support Elmwood's high standards of customer service.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Proven experience in greenkeeping or a related role.
  • SVQ Level 2 in Sports Turf Maintenance or equivalent qualification.
  • Knowledge of turfgrass management practices and machinery operation.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Passion for golf and the environment.

Desirable:

  • Valid PA1, PA2, and PA6 spraying certificates.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Manual handling
