Job Summary:
As a gardener with us, you have an opportunity to effectively manage the gardens under your responsibility, developing excellent working relationships with clients so that their requirements are met and the gardens are maintained and developed to the client’s satisfaction.
This is not a grounds maintenance or landscaping position, it is a horticultural position. It requires excellent plant knowledge and a passion for creating and maintaining beautiful gardens.

Duties:
- Plant, water, train and maintain flowers, shrubs, and trees
- Perform regular garden maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming and edging lawns
- Prune and shape trees and hedges to ensure their health and aesthetic appeal
- Apply fertilizers and pesticides as needed to promote plant growth and control pests
- Operate power tools such as lawn mowers, trimmers, and leaf blowers
- Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, and pruning shears for various gardening tasks
- Making new plant/planting recommendations to clients to improve their gardens
Requirements:
- Previous experience in garden maintenance is preferred
- Knowledge of different plant species, their care requirements and common pests/diseases
- Experience in implementing soft landscaping projects, such as installing new planting schemes or planning sympathetic additions to existing planted areas.
- Familiarity with operating power tools used in garden maintenance
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting heavy objects and working in all weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail to ensure precise pruning, planting, and maintenance techniques
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
- Good communication skills to work collaboratively with team members and clients
- Driving Licence and own transport
- An RHS (or equivalent) qualification would be preferred although not essential
