Garden Centre Associate (Part-Time and Full-Time positions available)

Job Overview
Small, independent garden centre with a dream, seeking a motivated Gardener Centre Assistant to join our team. You will help create a welcoming environment for customers and assist with the day-to-day running of the center. This is an hands-on role involving both retail and physical outdoor work. Working on weekends and bank holidays required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers, offering advice and excellent service.
• Monitor plant health, provide watering and identify any pest or disease issues, implementing appropriate treatments as necessary.
• Unload and display stock (including heavy lifting).
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation across the site. General upkeep and maintenance if the garden center.
• Operate tills, process sales and take phone orders.
• Keep accurate records.

Experience and skills

• Previous experience in gardening or horticulture is preferred but not essential., as training will be provided.
• Willingness to learn and ability to follow instructions are essential.
• Previous experience in retail, customer service, or a hands-on role is beneficial.
• Must be comfortable with physical work including working outdoors in all weather.
• A positive attitude, team spirit, and good communication skills are essential.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Customer-facing skills: being approachable, helpful, and professional at all times.
• A passion for plants and gardening, with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Pay: £12.21 per hour

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability
