Full job description

Gapp Developments Ltd are looking for a reliable and practical Gardener / Handyman / Handywoman to help maintain two busy childcare nursery sites in the Preston area. This is a varied, hands-on role ideal for someone who takes pride in keeping buildings and outdoor spaces safe, tidy and well maintained.

Hours of work are Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, 8:30am – 5:00pm. These days and times may vary to meet the needs of the business, advanced notice would be given.

Key Responsibilities

  • General gardening and grounds maintenance
  • Grass cutting, weeding, pruning and seasonal planting
  • Jet washing
  • General maintenance and minor repairs
  • Keeping both nursery sites clean, safe and well presented
  • Liaising with nursery managers and you line manager regarding maintenance requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Own reliable vehicle (travel to both nursery sites is required)
  • Own basic tools
  • Previous gardening, maintenance or handyman experience
  • Good practical DIY skills
  • Reliable, trustworthy and able to work independently
  • Friendly and professional approach when working around children and staff

Salary is dependent upon experience.

This role is based within childcare settings. The successful applicant will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check before employment commences.
