Various positions available for Horticulturalist/Gardeners

Job description

City Escapes are a Gardening, Landscaping and Horticultural company that has operations from their hubs in Burwash and Canterbury. We have extensive contracts within Kent that range from central London to the South Coast

Working within the Horticulture Department as part of the garden maintenance teams. Gardening duties including tending to plants, cutting grass and hedges, weeding and general garden maintenance. Will include light landscaping as needed. Driving to and from locations as needed. In general we try to always ensure a team of at least two individuals are on site together.

Specification:

You will need to be fully comfortable within a horticultural environment and a good knowledge of horticulture skills is desirable though can train for suitable candidate.

Able to work within a diverse team.

Good with tools both hand and power (Strimmers,mowers,hedgecutters). Though willing to train good solid candidates if they possess a positive CAN DO attitude.

It is essential that the prospective candidate be able to to start early morning.

Our teams leave from our base in Barham for the London runs at 5.00am with normal closer to base contracts leaving at 6.00am. This is essential though it does mean earlier finishes in general(14.00-15.00)

Can do attitude towards work and good working practices.

To follow the aims and principles of City Escapes

Clean driving licence. (Essential)

Willingness to progress within the company. There will be chances for supervisory positions

Horticultural Manager
General Manager

Hours of work: 42-46 hours per week is normal though may be slightly less or more dependent on works in progress and necessity of the site works. Hourly rate negotiable based upon suitable experience.

Objectives:

To undertake gardening duties on sites in and around London though mostly local areas.

Good customer focus and ability to work under own supervision when required.

Take responsibility for the day’s work ahead, be able to work with focus.

Keen to learn and progress in your role.

Job Type: Full-time/part time

Salary: Dependant on Experience though fair and negotiable. Discussed in detail if called for interview.
