Assistant Manager - Landscaping Team
Elevate Your Career with Us!

Are you a driven and resilient individual looking to take the next step in your career? Join our award-winning landscaping company, where we prioritise a friendly, professional environment and are highly regarded for rewarding our employees. We are seeking a hands-on Assistant Manager to become a pivotal part of our dynamic team.

Why You'll Love Working With Us

  • Supportive Work Environment: Be part of a team that values every employee's input. Your ideas and innovations are encouraged to improve our processes.
  • Career Growth Opportunities: Learn from industry leaders with hands-on mentorship from experienced landscaping managers.
  • Recognition and Rewards: We are committed to recognising hard work with profit-based bonuses and opportunities for significant salary growth.

Your Role and Responsibilities

This is a physically demanding role where you'll lead by example, working directly alongside our landscapers every day. The Assistant Manager is expected to be actively involved in heavy physical tasks, demonstrating strong leadership while contributing to the team's efforts.

  • Lead and Inspire: Work side by side with the team, stepping into management roles when required. This includes participating in hard landscaping tasks such as paving, excavation, fencing, and decking.
  • Project Management: Oversee the planning and execution of landscaping projects from start to finish, ensuring they meet deadlines and stay within budget.
  • Resource Management: Maintain stock levels and ensure all landscaping equipment is in good working order.
  • Safety First: Enforce site safety and compliance with all safety regulations.
  • Team Collaboration: Foster a cooperative and friendly working environment, promoting teamwork and open communication.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Laying paving and constructing patios.
  • Excavating and preparing groundworks for landscaping projects.
  • Erecting fences and constructing decking.
  • Operating machinery and handling tools.
  • Learning new hard landscaping techniques on the job—building skills that will advance your career.

What We're Looking For

Skills and Abilities:

  • Flexibility to adapt to various projects and tasks—making each day different and engaging.
  • Strong leadership and management abilities under tight deadlines and challenging conditions.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Effective time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Good stress management and resilience.
  • Physically fit—this role involves heavy lifting, operating equipment, and other physically demanding tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Basic GCSEs required.
  • Full, clean driving licence required.
  • Landscaping or building experience is beneficial but not essential.

Attitude:

  • Honest, hardworking, and positive.
  • Proactive and confident.
  • We value attitude over skills—skills can be taught, but a great attitude is invaluable.

What We Offer

  • Competitive Salary with profit-based monthly bonuses ranging from £150 to £400, depending on performance.
  • 28 Days Holiday, including bank holidays.
  • Company Van provided for work purposes.

Training and Development

  • On-the-job training by our experienced landscaping managers.
  • Continuous feedback and assessment.
  • Formal training opportunities and certifications to support your career development.

Career Progression

  • Opportunity to advance to a full manager role within 1-2 years.
  • Lead your own team and take on more responsibilities.
  • Significant salary growth and increased bonuses as you progress.

Work Environment

  • Full-Time Position (37.5 hours per week).
  • Work outdoors at customer properties, enjoying the satisfaction of transforming spaces.
  • Be part of a hardworking, fun team where every day is engaging and different.

Ready to Grow with Us?

If you're passionate about hard landscaping, physically fit, and eager to develop your leadership and management skills, we'd love to hear from you! Join us and be part of a team where your hard work is recognised and rewarded.
