Tree Inspectors undertake the routine inspection of trees to an agreed schedule. The role’s primary responsibility is the inspection and recording of the council’s tree stock, so that they do not pose a foreseeable risk to people or property, in line with the adopted Tree Management Protocol, best practice guidance and legislation.

This responsibility will be carried out through proactive surveying of the council tree stock including street trees, trees in on RMBC Housing land and open spaces, trees in Council housing stock gardens and Council owned woodlands in order to identify and manage potential risks, raising work instructions with the tree works contractor as necessary.

The role requires, an excellent knowledge of trees, tree disease and fungal decay and other factors which affect tree health and vitality.

The role works in conjunction with the wider tree team and the Council’s tree works contractors
