Job Title: Gardener / Groundsman
Location: Private Estate near Banbury
Reporting To: Estate Manager
Hours: 5 days per week, 08:00–17:00

We are seeking a proactive and reliable Gardener / Groundsman to support the maintenance and presentation of an 80-acre private estate.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with practical horticultural experience who takes pride in maintaining high standards.

The successful candidate will work as part of a small, professional estate team and must demonstrate flexibility, discretion, and a strong work ethic.

Key Responsibilities

General grounds maintenance including mowing, strimming, edging, hedge cutting, pruning, and seasonal upkeep

Lawn care and structured bed maintenance (minimal formal flower beds)

Kitchen garden support including planting, harvesting, and soil preparation

Maintenance of fencing, gates, outbuildings, and estate infrastructure

Operation and basic maintenance of grounds machinery and tools

Jet washing, terrace care, and seasonal exterior presentation

Care of chickens and occasional dog walking/feeding

Ad hoc estate support tasks including minor repairs and occasional driving duties

Candidate Profile

Experience in grounds maintenance or estate work (suitable for junior or developing candidates)

Practical horticultural knowledge and enthusiasm for land care

Competent with grounds machinery

Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors year-round

Full UK driving licence

Basic maintenance skills

Professional, discreet, and team-oriented attitude
