Full job description

We have an opportunity for full and part time Garden Centre Assistant at our family owned garden centre.

The role is varied with each day bringing new challenges and rewards. Excellent customer service is our first priority and the wellbeing of our plants is also critical to our success.

Good horticultural knowledge is preferred but training will be offered to the right person. A horticultural qualification would be great too, but it’s not essential.

As this is a customer facing role we would need you to be professional and possess the ability to listen, communicate and make sales.

We would like to find a team player who works well with others but is equally comfortable working independently using initiative. You will be enthusiastic and energetic and have lots of ideas to help us improve. A sound work ethic is also a skill that we require.

As you will be working with plants you will be outside for the majority of the time so you need to be accepting and tolerant of all weather conditions. It's also important to note that you will be required to work alternative weekends and some bank holidays.

In return we offer a supportive, creative, mindful and fun working environment providing plenty of fresh air and beautiful plants. You will have the opportunity to shine and be recognised for your achievements.

Pay is dependent upon your skills and experience, (to be discussed at interview). In addition to this you will receive a staff discount on plants, gardening products/gifts and meals in the restaurant too, (& we have great cakes!!).

If the above criteria is a fit for you then please apply and include a covering letter explaining why you are the person for us!

Thank you
