Gardening jobs in Derby

We are looking for a candidate passionate about gardening. Candidates with horticultural qualifications and/ or a good amount of experience in the landscaping sector.

The position will require the chosen candidate to work on a range of projects in a small team from gardening to soft landscaping. We are setup for low volume and high quality work, so excellent customer service skills and a high attention to detail is essential.

Desired Work Experience, Skills & Education

- Horticultural qualifications are essential or an extended period of working in a horticultural/ landscaping position. Evidence of all qualifications or experience will be checked.

- Experience in working with plants, in large gardens using machinery

- Evidence of good time keeping, being reliable, a great and willing attitude to learn and develop on an application is desirable (through references or evidence of past achievements)

- Candidates must be conscientious, trustworthy and have pride in their work quality

- Passionate about gardening is a MUST Job Responsibilities - garden clearances, paving, fencing, pruning shrubs, hedge cutting, weeding and planting - we work on maintaining and landscaping large and small gardens doing initial tidy ups and also regular contracts - large clearances of overgrown grounds - pruning trees, shrubs and plants - total landscapes of gardens from patios, laying new lawns, fencing.

The Types of things you will be doing

• Plant identification and appropriate pruning
• Weeding
• Hedge trimming
• Labouring (general moving of materials, cleaning up)
• Other general garden maintenance

Hours and Further Details

- Work will vary during the winter months

- Hours for each day will be half 7 - half 4.

- Hourly rate starting from £11.50/hour - £15/ hour dependent on experience.
