Full job description

Purpose of the role

To support the upkeep and development of outdoor garden spaces at Bassets Court, creating a pleasant and welcoming environment for residents while also engaging them in gardening activities to promote wellbeing and social interaction.

Main Responsibilities

  • Maintain garden areas (watering plants, weeding, pruning, planting)
  • Support seasonal gardening tasks and improvements
  • Work with staff to plan simple gardening activities for residents
  • Encourage residents to take part in light gardening where appropriate
  • Ensure tools are used safely and stored correctly
  • Help keep outdoor areas clean and tidy

Skills, experience & attitude needed

  • Interest in gardening (experience helpful)
  • Friendly and approachable personality
  • Ability to engage positively with residents
  • Patience, reliability, and willingness to support others
  • Basic understanding of health & safety

Expected hours/time

As and when required though we will work around the availability of volunteers.
