    • Hours 7.30am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday.

Horticulturist - working within our Maintenance & Small Works team

Based in the South West of Cambridge we are family run business accredited by the Association of Professional Landscapers & The British Association of Landscape Industries with high profile contracts across East Anglia.

Here at Jacq and Wills we currently have a unique opportunity for a passionate Horticulturist to join our small, friendly and hardworking team. (In order to apply for this position you will need at least 2 years gardening experience)

We are currently looking for a skilled individual who is trustworthy, enthusiastic, personable, resilient and conscientious. The chosen candidate should have a passion for horticulture, be keen to learn and work their way up in the company.

You will have the opportunity to work within our growing maintenance & small works division, helping to look after and develop a variety of gardens in and around Cambridgeshire, as well as undertaking small soft‑landscaping projects. The chosen candidate will not only work across a range of domestic and school gardens, but will also help maintain the gardens of an award‑winning Manor House estate, which includes orchards, Japanese gardens, rose gardens and wild gardens.

In addition, you will have the opportunity to be part of large‑scale planting projects, including tree planting, and to work within professionally designed gardens where high‑quality horticulture and attention to detail are essential.

Applicant must be able to work within a team as well as work on their own. A full driving licence and the ability to pass a DBS check is also required. You should have experience in the following: Hedge cutting, mowing, spraying, pruning, pond maintenance and should have a good understand of plants and how to care for them. You should also have experience in soft landscaping skills such as planting, turfing, basic carpentry, paving, and landscaping repairs. There are also great opportunities to gain additional qualifications, take on more responsibility and earn promotions.

Hours: 7:30 - 5:00 (1 hour of unpaid breaks throughout the day)

Expected hours: 42.5 per week

Holiday: 28 days inc bank holidays

Pay: £28,840.50 - £30,895.80 per year.
