Grounds Maintenance Team Leader

Are you an experienced and motivated team leader with a passion for maintaining high-quality landscapes? Do you thrive in a hands-on role where you can lead a team and ensure outdoor spaces are kept at their best? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Grounds Maintenance Team Leader to join our growing team at Plant Style.

A Bit About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have a strong background in grounds maintenance, horticulture, or landscaping, along with proven experience in leading and motivating a team. You will be responsible maintaining high-quality landscapes projects for our clients across Chelmsford andsurrounding areas. You should be enthusiastic, self-motivated, ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely, and to a high standard. You should have a keen eye for detail, excellent organisational skills, and a hands-on approach to leadership. As a team leader, you will have strong communication skills and a professional, approachable manner when interacting with clients and team members.

Key Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of grounds maintenance operatives, ensuring efficiency and high-quality standards
  • Carry out and oversee grass cutting, hedge trimming, weeding, pruning, planting, and general garden upkeep
  • Plan and execute seasonal maintenance tasks, including fertilisation, mulching, and lawn care
  • Ensure all work is completed on time, within budget, and to a professional standard
  • Act as the main on-site point of contact for clients, maintaining excellent customer service
  • Conduct site inspections and quality checks, ensuring all maintenance meets required standards
  • Train and mentor junior team members, promoting skill development and teamwork
  • Maintain and safely operate tools, machinery, and equipment
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines and PPE requirements
  • Excellent plant and horticultural knowledge
  • A clean driving license is required for travel between sites
  • PA1/PA6 spraying certification
