Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Landscape Gardener to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for horticulture and a strong understanding of landscape maintenance. This role involves the upkeep of gardens and outdoor spaces, ensuring they remain healthy, vibrant, and aesthetically pleasing. The Gardener will utilise both hand tools and power tools to perform various gardening tasks, contributing to the overall beauty and functionality of the grounds.
Responsibilities
- Maintain gardens by planting, watering, weeding, and pruning plants to promote healthy growth.
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely and effectively for various gardening tasks.
- Perform landscape maintenance including mowing lawns, trimming hedges, and mulching flower beds.
- Irrigate plants as needed to ensure proper hydration and growth.
- Monitor plant health and identify any pests or diseases, taking appropriate action to remedy issues.
- Assist in the design and layout of new garden areas or landscaping projects.
- Keep accurate records of plant growth, maintenance schedules, and any changes made to the garden.
Requirements
- Proven experience in gardening or groundskeeping is preferred.
- Familiarity with power tools such as lawnmowers, trimmers, and blowers.
- Knowledge of irrigation systems and techniques for effective watering of plants.
- Ability to use hand tools effectively for planting and maintenance tasks.
- Strong understanding of plant care including growing conditions, pest control, and seasonal requirements.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labour outdoors in various weather conditions.
- A keen eye for detail and a passion for creating beautiful outdoor spaces.
