About Cambridge Country Club:

Role Overview:

We are actively seeking an Assistant Greenkeeper to bolster our dedicated and experienced team. This role is perfect for someone with a deep passion for maintaining impeccable golf courses and ensuring they consistently reflect the high standards of the Cambridge Country Club.

Key Responsibilities:

Course Maintenance & Management:

· Assist the Head Greenkeeper in ensuring the golf course is maintained to the highest standard.

· Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides as per the spraying certificates PA1, PA2 & PA6.

· Conduct regular inspections of the course to identify and rectify issues.

Team Collaboration:

· Work closely with the Head Greenkeeper and the greenkeeping team to implement maintenance plans.

· Attend regular team meetings to discuss and plan course improvements and upcoming maintenance tasks.

Equipment Management:

  • Ensure all greenkeeping equipment is maintained, cleaned, and stored correctly.
  • Advise on equipment purchases and upgrades when necessary.

Safety & Environmental Management:

  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring both team members and golfers are in a safe environment.
  • Adopt environmentally sustainable practices and promote biodiversity on the golf course.

Understanding of Golf:

· Use knowledge of the game to ensure the golf course offers a challenging yet enjoyable experience for players of all levels.

· Engage with club members to gather feedback and insights to help further improve the course.

Desired Qualities and Qualifications:

· Minimum 3 years' greenkeeping experience.

· NVQ level 2 or equivalent in a related field.

· Holding spraying certificates PA1, PA2 & PA6.

· Enthusiastic with the ability to work as part of a cohesive team.

· Strong communication skills.

· A keen understanding of the game of golf.
