Summary:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, switched-on and hard working individual to start ASAP as an Estate Worker/Gardener ready to assist the existing estate manager to oversee the smooth running of the Principals' country residence. The estate is currently made up of circa 70 acres with a 17,000 sq ft house, both of which will be expanded in the near future. There is already a small but high energy team already in situ.

This will predominantly be a Monday to Friday role, working 7:30am to 4:30pm, however some out of hours work will be required either to deal with emergencies or via arrangements with the principals.

Responsibilities:

-General grounds maintenance and gardening/landscaping tasks to ensure the cleanliness and appearance of the property including paving, decking, brick work, block work, fencing, pointing, leaf blowing, strimming, weeding, shrub/flower bed maintenance , mowing, hedge cutting
- Use power tools and hand tools to build, repair, and maintain outdoor structures and equipment
- Assist with irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of plants and lawns
- Plant, prune, and maintain gardens and landscape areas
- Dig trenches and holes for planting or installing new features
- Conduct regular inspections of the grounds to identify any issues or hazards
- Maintain cleanliness of walkways, parking areas, and other outdoor areas

-Tree surgery & maintenance

- Vehicle valeting

- Collaborate with team members to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner

Experience:
- Previous experience in gardening/landscape maintenance or groundskeeping preferred
- Knowledge of power tools and mechanical equipment used in grounds maintenance
- Familiarity with hand tools commonly used in landscaping work
- Ability to operate and maintain irrigation systems
- Strong understanding of proper planting, pruning, and maintenance techniques for various plants and trees
