Retail Assistant – Foodhall

Are you passionate about retail and delivering outstanding customer service?
Do you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same?

We’re looking for a friendly and enthusiastic Retail Assistant to join our busy Foodhall Retail Team at Bents.

About the Role

As a Retail Assistant, you’ll play an important part in creating an exceptional shopping experience for our customers. From helping customers find the perfect product to replenishing displays and supporting deliveries, you’ll be at the heart of a vibrant and hardworking retail team.

This is a varied and hands-on role where customer service, teamwork and attention to detail are key.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Greeting customers warmly and offering helpful assistance
  • Providing excellent product knowledge across the department
  • Supporting customers with purchases and maximising sales opportunities
  • Operating tills and handling transactions accurately
  • Replenishing stock and maintaining effective stock rotation
  • Assisting with warehouse deliveries and stock movement
  • Creating attractive and well-merchandised displays
  • Helping ensure high standards are maintained throughout the department
  • Delivering a consistently positive customer experience

About You

We’re looking for someone who is approachable, proactive and enjoys working with people.

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in a retail or customer-facing role
  • A positive, friendly and customer-focused attitude
  • The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A flexible and reliable approach to work
  • Confidence working under pressure and using your initiative

Experience in a similar retail role would be advantageous, although full training will be provided.

Hours & Working Pattern

  • Permanent role
  • 24 hours per week
  • Flexibility is required, including weekdays, evenings and weekends

Rota

Week 1

  • Tuesday: 10:30am – 6:30pm
  • Wednesday: 10:30am – 6:30pm
  • Friday: 12:00pm – 6:00pm
  • Sunday: 11:00am – 4:00pm

Week 2

  • Tuesday: 10:00am – 6:30pm
  • Wednesday: 10:30am – 6:30pm
  • Thursday: 10:00am – 3:00pm
  • Saturday: 2:00pm – 7:00pm

Salary meets National Minimum/Living Wage requirements.
