Full job description

A practical yet customer facing role suitable for someone with a keen eye for detail, and preferably a love for plants! We are hoping to find a self-motivated, reliable team member with good time keeping skills. The role is a very versatile and involves working as part of a team and independently, maintaining both living interior and exterior plant displays to the highest standard across our client sites. Each working week will be different. The work will be spread across a variety of prestigious business clients and hotels in the South West so a neat and tidy appearance is a must (company uniform will be provided). The position will also require working at our Nursery in Somerset, assisting with preparation of plant displays, ordering and allocating plant deliveries. Good communication and literacy skills are essential, and the successful applicant will be fluent in English. Training will be provided for the successful applicant; however, experience or knowledge of plants is a bonus. The applicant should have very good organisation skills.

A full driving licence is essential and willingness to drive a van.

Reporting to: Operations Director

Remuneration £26,780 per annum for 40 hour week (full time permanent contract) 6-month probationary period

Working Hours: Usual working hours Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. Flexibility sometimes required for early starts/late finishes. (Overtime rates payable after 40-hour week)

Holiday (pro rata): 28 days per annum (incl. bank holidays)

Main Tasks / Essential Criteria:

● To maintain, prune, replace, both interior and exterior plant displays at our clients’ offices/hotels/properties across the South West and at our Nursery.

● To follow company schedules, project worksheets and communicate effectively with the rest of the team on a daily basis.

● Work as a part of a team and sometimes independently to create and deliver plant displays for short term hires/events

● Offer a friendly, professional, and reliable service to our clients.

● Be happy to assist with operational duties which will include some light manual handling.

● Work efficiently and safely, adhering to our company Health & Safety policies and procedures, and that of those of our client sites and at our nursery.

● To adequately complete all necessary paperwork/dockets to each site visited, and to keep personal timesheets.

● Frequent yard/nursery work at our base in Somerset near Sherborne, including making up displays, caring for living plants, ordering and allocating of plant deliveries.

● To communicate efficiently and professionally with your team, line manager and clients.

● Willingness to drive vans across the South West.
