PLANT CENTRE SUPERVISOR

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Horticultural Plant Supervisor to oversee our Plant Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient running of the Centre, helping customers with advice on purchase of trees and shrubs, and generally maintaining the stock to a high standard. This role requires strong horticultural knowledge. The Plant Centre Supervisor will play a crucial role in driving continuous improvement initiatives within the centre.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in horticulture and plant care
• Strong gardening skills with a focus on plant growth and maintenance
• Relevant certifications in horticulture or related fields are a plus

Responsibilities include:

• Using computer to input orders and sales invoices
• Daily maintenance of EPOS systems and labelling
• Arranging deliveries of customer orders and liasing with main office with regard to delivery vehicles.
• Serving customers
• Completing stock requirement sheets for re-stocking.
• Re-stocking sales area with stock brought from nursery.
• Displaying ‘Looking Good’ stock.
• Deal with retail customer telephone enquiries and providing quotations.
• Take responsibility for cash/card sales whilst on duty and cash up and balance the till daily.
• Unloading bought in stock and standing down on beds
• Use of fork lift truck to unload vehicles – training will be given if necessary.
• Keep Sales Manager informed of customer requests for plants not in stock
• Undertake other such duties as may be requested by the Nursery Manager or Directors from time to time

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From £28,000.00 per year

Experience:

• Horticulture: 5 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• Driving Licence (required)
