Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Gardener/Groundsperson to take responsibility for the maintenance and enhancement of our outdoor spaces. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about horticulture and landscape care, with a focus on creating beautiful, sustainable environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for various gardening and landscape maintenance tasks, ensuring the grounds are well-kept and aesthetically pleasing.

Duties

  • Utilise hand tools and power tools to perform routine gardening tasks, including planting, pruning, mowing, and edging
  • Maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of plants and lawns
  • Operate specialised equipment for landscape maintenance, such as lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, and blowers
  • Assist with planting new flora, including trees, shrubs, flowers, and vegetables
  • Conduct regular inspections of the grounds to identify areas needing attention or repair
  • Apply horticultural practices to promote healthy growth and pest control
  • Support seasonal tasks such as mulching, fertilising, and soil preparation
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are maintained in good working order and stored safely after use

Experience

  • Previous experience in gardening or landscape maintenance is essential
  • Familiarity with hand tools, irrigation systems, and power tools used in horticulture is essential
  • Growing experience or a background in horticulture or gardening will be highly valued
  • Knowledge of landscape maintenance techniques and plant care principles is beneficial
  • A proactive attitude with a keen eye for detail and a passion for outdoor work is essential
