Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Grounds Maintenance Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the aesthetic appeal and functionality of outdoor spaces. This role involves a variety of tasks that contribute to the upkeep of the Cemetery and other outdoor sites in Newark.

• Perform groundskeeping tasks including mowing and strimming.
• Build and maintain garden beds, including digging and planting flowers, shrubs, and trees
• Carry out landscape maintenance duties such as mulching, weeding, and watering plants
• Operate and maintain power tools and hand tools safely and effectively
• Conduct regular inspections of grounds to identify maintenance needs or potential issues
• H&S checks.
• Grave digging and burial plot management.
• Ensure all areas are kept clean and free from debris

Experience

• Previous experience in groundskeeping or landscape maintenance is essential.
• Familiarity with mechanical knowledge related to gardening equipment is advantageous
• Proficiency in using power tools (e.g., lawn mowers, hedge trimmers) as well as hand tools (e.g., shovels, rakes) is required
• A full UK Driving Licence is essential.
