Full job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate candidate that has a passionate love for plants and gardening.

We are offering an exciting opportunity for self motivated individuals who have extensive prior horticultural training, experience and a good knowledge of garden maintenance to join our friendly experienced team.

Role(s) available:

Role 1
General Grounds Maintenance operative -

(seasonal hours shall apply to this role with the view to the right candidate progressing to full time hours)

The successful candidate would need to be able to work alone but also as an integral part of a team across a range of sites from commercial residential sites, new build developments and industrial sites.

The candidate needs to have the ability to understand and see what is required on day to day basis during site visits within the guidelines set to meet the business requirements and standards. A good understanding of grounds maintenance industry practices is paramount.

Role 2

Skilled General Gardener -

(seasonal hours shall apply to this role with the view to the right candidate progressing to full time hours)

The successful candidate would need to be able to work alone but also as an integral part of a team predominantly in a domestic garden setting.

The candidate needs to have the ability to understand and see what is required on day to day basis during site visits within the guidelines set to meet the business requirements and standards. A good understanding of plant knowledge and horticultural industry practices is paramount.

In addition to the above general duties listed below:

We are looking someone who has

  • A full, clean drivers license.
  • PA1/PA6. (Required)
  • Chainsaw Licence (Benificial)
  • Specific roles and responsibilities will include the following:
  • Lawn Mowing.
  • Strimming.
  • Maintenance of shrubs and flower beds.
  • Hedge cutting/Pruning.
  • Litter Picking.
  • Responsibility of upkeep of vans.
  • Responsibility of upkeep of machinery and equipment.

The candidate should be able to:

  • Work to a high standard, completing jobs within set timescales to an agreed specification.
  • Be competent in the use of petrol powered and non powered hand tools, pedestrian lawn mowers and ride on mowers.
  • Take responsibility that vehicles cleanliness and appearance kept to an high standard at all time
  • Machinery is in good working order and properly and maintained.
  • Able to work on their own and within a team.
  • Self motivated
  • Professional
  • Liaise between grounds maintenance teams and management.
  • Competent and able to communicate with management on a day to basis to give detailed updates on site progression.
  • Have good plant knowledge including botanical names.
  • Competent in the usage of iPhone and apps for the purpose of recording daily job activity.

Monday - Thursdays 7:30-16:50

Friday - 7:30-16:00

Seasonal and winter evening hours may apply in order to fulfill requirements of the business

Additional and beneficial qualifications, cscs card, ROLO.
