Windowflowers is a family business, established in 1947 and now one of the largest plant display companies in the country. We supply and maintain planted displays and flowers to businesses and local councils throughout London and the South East of England.
Role and Reponsibilities
Windowflowers is a busy growing company looking to recruit and invest in talented, Experienced Horticultural Assistants offering ongoing job security, guaranteed hours, attendance bonuses and ongoing training. The ideal company for those looking for a career.
- The job involves starting early at 4/5am finishing earlier at 2/3pm.
- We also work on Saturdays and expect a level of commitment to weekend work especially during the busier summer months.
- Your duties once familiar with the customer sites will include being responsible for seasonally replanting and fully maintaining their External/Internal displays during the week keeping a high standard throughout the year.
- Due to the nature of the business, you will need to have good knowledge and understanding of seasonal plants and also pest/disease control requiring a PA1/PA6 spraying licence.
- Knowledge of installing and maintaining watering systems.
- Safe use of Ladders and Stepladders
- Experience using power tools such as Drills/Lawnmowers/Hedge cutters etc.
- Our client is public facing so you must be polite, courteous, and professional always.
- Once you are familiar with the sites you will be looking after you will be allocated a company van which will be your responsivity to keep clean and tidy reporting any problems with the vehicle to management.
Requirements
- Due to our location, you must have access to your own transport, location 1.5 mile from Burnham train station, push bike would be suitable if you do not have a car.
Rewards
- Drivers - £14 per hour plus 5% bonus based on attendance
Hourly rate effectively £14.70 per hour
After 1 year of employment you will qualify for an additional 5% performance bonus as well as the 5% attendance bonus potentially increasing your basic hourly rate by 10%
- Average 10 hours per day – but 40 hrs guaranteed during less busy winter months.

- 3 – 4 Days off between Christmas and New Year paid (you only qualify for this after you have been employed for 1 year)
