Horticulture General Assistant

Full–time

We are a long-established family business, based just outside Knutsford in Cheshire, growing specialist garden plants which we deliver to prestigious garden centres and specialist plant nurseries across the UK.

We take great pride in our work and have a vacancy for an enthusiastic person to join our loyal, friendly team of approximately 10 people.

We’re seeking a Horticulture General Assistant to carry out tasks including the following:

• operating and assisting with the nursery production line
• pruning, weeding, watering of plants
• order picking
• warehouse stocking up
• warehouse and nursery maintenance, including weeding of the nursery, cleaning benching, pressure washing surfaces and repairing benching
• unloading and organisation of container deliveries
• preparing plants for despatch, labelling, cleaning etc

Requirements

• enjoy working as part of a team which takes great pride in their work
• enthusiastic, keen to learn new skills and determined to meet deadlines
• methodical, considered and safe working approach to tasks
• all training will be provided (horticulture experience preferred but not essential)
• due to location you will need your own transport

Attributes/experience that would be beneficial, but not essential, for a candidate to have:

• previous experience of working in a horticulture environment - garden centre, plant nursery or similar
• warehouse/order picking experience
• experience of working in an outdoor or active role

Hours

8am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday, with 45 minutes lunch break

Job Types: Full-time:

Salary: 23,052 per annum

Start: as soon as possible
