About the Role

At Wyre, we take pride in the maintenance and presentation of our parks, open spaces, and cemeteries. To support this work, we are looking to recruit a Gardener who will help maintain our landscaped areas to the high standards our communities expect.

This is a hands-on role working as part of a dedicated team responsible for the day‑to‑day upkeep of the borough’s green spaces. • Carry out general horticultural and grounds maintenance tasks across the borough.
  • Provide a uniformed, professional presence while undertaking duties.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to meet service standards.
  • Support safe working practices and contribute to a positive health and safety culture.
  • Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience maintaining parks, open spaces, or similar environments.
  • Understanding of good customer care practices.

  • PA1 & PA6a Pesticide Application.
  • Understanding of fine turf and sports pitch maintenance.

What you’ll get in return:

  • The opportunity to work outdoors in a role that directly contributes to the appearance and enjoyment of Wyre’s green spaces.
  • Training and development opportunities, including grounds maintenance skills and equipment use.
  • A competitive salary with employer pension contributions.
  • 24 days annual leave rising to 29 days depending on length of service, plus bank holidays.
  • A supportive team environment where you can develop and grow.
