Part-Time Grounds Person

Ulverston Golf Club | South Cumbria

An opportunity has arisen to join the team at Ulverston Golf Club as a Part-Time Grounds Person.

Set in a beautiful location overlooking Morecambe Bay and the Lake District fells, Ulverston Golf Club is looking for a reliable and hardworking individual to assist our greenkeeping team with a range of general grounds and outdoor duties.

This is a flexible, practical and hands-on role which could be ideal for someone who is semi-retired, looking for additional income alongside other work, or simply seeking a regular part-time position in an attractive outdoor environment.

Key Responsibilities

Duties will include:

  • Assisting with general grounds maintenance around the golf course
  • Assisting the greenkeeping team with routine tasks as required
  • Collection of golf balls from the Driving Range
  • Cleaning and sorting Driving Range balls ready for use

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is reliable, punctual and hardworking
  • Enjoys working outdoors in a range of weather conditions
  • Can work independently and as part of a team
  • Has a practical and flexible approach to work
  • Takes pride in maintaining high standards
  • Is willing to undertake a variety of duties as required
  • Has an awareness of basic health and safety

Previous grounds maintenance, gardening or similar practical experience would be advantageous but is not essential, as training can be provided.

Hours

This is a flexible part-time position, with the overall number and pattern of hours to be agreed with the successful candidate.

The role will include some regular core hours, likely to be:

Monday, Wednesday & Friday – 8.00am to 11.00am

Some occasional Saturday morning working will also be required and will be paid at an enhanced rate.

There may also be opportunities for additional hours depending on the needs of the Club and the availability of the successful candidate.
