Job Summary

Tidy Gardens Ltd, Blandford Dorset, are looking to recruit a dedicated and passionate Gardener to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of groundskeeping and landscape maintenance, with the ability to cultivate and maintain a variety of plants and gardens. This role involves working outdoors, utilising both power and hand tools to ensure the beauty and health of our landscapes. We are a family run business that has been trading for in excess of 15 years in the local area and beyond.

We are looking to recruit an experienced individual used to working with maintenance tools such as mowers, trimmers, and hedge cutters.

Duties

  • Perform regular maintenance of gardens, including planting, pruning, weeding, and fertilising plants.
  • Operate power tools such as lawn mowers, trimmers, and blowers safely and effectively.
  • Use hand tools for various gardening tasks, ensuring all equipment is maintained in good condition.
  • Implement irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of plants and landscapes.
  • Monitor plant health and growth, identifying any issues such as pests or diseases promptly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of gardening tools and equipment storage areas and vehicles.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve overall landscape goals and enhance the aesthetic appeal of the property.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in groundskeeping or gardening is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
  • Familiarity with various plant species and their care requirements is advantageous.
  • Ability to operate both power tools and hand tools safely and efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail with a passion for growing plants and maintaining beautiful landscapes.
  • Good physical fitness, as the role requires lifting, bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent time management skills to complete tasks efficiently within designated timeframes.
