Heckfield Estates is looking for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable individual to join its team To assist the Head Arborist with the propagation of trees and woody plants, and the daily running of the Biodynamic nursery.
The tree nursery was created to allow us to propagate from the incredible trees on the 438 acre estate that were planted from the mid-1700s onwards, with the intention to succession plant. This will ensure that there will always be prolific trees inhabiting the estate here at Heckfield for generations to come. We are now collecting material from other estates and institutions to diversify our genetics and species range, focusing on rare trees and red listed endangered species that will help global conservation efforts.

Our 438 acre landscape has been laid down for over 250 years and includes our 340 acre original Home Farm which is mixed arable and livestock, certified organic and farmed biodynamically. Within the farm there is a five-acre market garden. Across the estate we have ornamental lawns, and gardens, 2 historical clay lined lakes, the chalk lined river White Water and various mixed woodlands. The estate is home to Heckfield Place (www.heckfieldplace.com), a Georgian family home now lovingly restored to a five-star hotel and surrounded by Hampshire countryside.
You will be working within the amazing historic grounds of the estate and farm.
We are working on something very special in these lovely grounds, developing the Arboretum from seed. We would be pleased to hear from you if you are interested in joining the team.
Only candidates with the Right to Work in the UK should apply.
