Job Description - Teacher .doc

We are seeking passionate and industry-experienced Casual Hair and Beauty Teachers to join our Hair and Beauty team.

This is an exciting opportunity for professionals who hold a Level 3 qualification in either Hairdressing or Beauty Therapy and have extensive industry experience. You will inspire and motivate learners by sharing your vocational expertise and helping them develop the technical, professional and employability skills required for a successful career in the hair and beauty industry.

You will deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across a range of Hair and Beauty programmes, supporting learners to develop both practical and theoretical knowledge. Working with students at various stages of their learning journey, you will create engaging lessons, demonstrations and practical workshops that reflect current industry standards and trends.

The successful candidate will support learners to achieve their qualifications while developing the confidence, communication skills and professionalism expected within the sector. You will assess learner progress, provide constructive feedback and offer pastoral support to help students overcome barriers and reach their full potential.

Working collaboratively with colleagues, you will contribute to maintaining high standards of teaching, learning and learner achievement while promoting a positive, inclusive and professional learning environment.

We welcome applications from experienced hairdressers and beauty therapists who are passionate about developing the next generation of industry professionals. Previous teaching experience would be advantageous but is not essential, as full support and teacher training opportunities are available for suitable candidates.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering engaging practical and theoretical lessons across Hair and Beauty programmes.
  • Supporting learners to develop industry-standard technical skills and knowledge.
  • Assessing learner work and providing timely, constructive feedback.
  • Monitoring learner progress, attendance and achievement.
  • Providing individual support and guidance to help learners succeed.
  • Maintaining high standards of health and safety, hygiene and professional practice.
  • Ensuring learning activities reflect current industry trends and employer expectations.
  • Supporting learners to develop confidence, professionalism and employability skills.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver an outstanding learner experience.
  • Promoting equality, diversity and inclusion within the learning environment.

This is a rewarding opportunity to use your industry expertise to inspire future hair and beauty professionals while making a positive impact within a supportive further education environment.
