Southernwood is Tyne Housing Association’s new housing scheme for vulnerable young persons aged 18-25; Developed in conjunction with Gateshead Council, the scheme is designed to actualise everything that Tyne has learnt as a sector leader across the last 50 years. Tyne has worked alongside some of the most excluded, and marginalised people in our region, culminating in this new scheme specifically for young people.

Southernwood provides state of the art accommodation and tailored support for young people who have experienced, or are at risk of experiencing, homelessness.

Our Support Workers workers are at the heart of what we do, working closely with our residents to deliver person-focused support and facilitate activities that will help them to develop and grow, boosting their self-confidence and belief in themselves– giving them the next opportunity to move on into true independence.
