You’ll be part of a dedicated Gas Team within Construction Services, working together to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality compliance services across over 18,000 council homes and public buildings. The team plays a vital role in ensuring customers receive timely servicing, repairs, and remedial works, using dynamic scheduling systems to optimise resources and maintain compliance. Working in a fast-paced and customer-focused environment, you’ll collaborate closely with engineers, contractors, and managers to keep services running smoothly and deliver a sector-leading experience for residents

What you will get to do

  • Work within a team of schedulers coordinating work orders and customer appointments across the Gas Team
  • Act as a key point of contact for operational staff, managing appointments and scheduling queries
  • Raise, appoint and manage work orders to ensure jobs are completed efficiently using scheduling systems
  • Monitor and maintain diaries for gas servicing, repairs and remedial works using dynamic resource scheduling tools
  • Optimise daily resources and reallocate work to maximise efficiency and meet performance targets
  • Liaise with site managers to support productivity and ensure effective service delivery
  • Monitor job completion times and resolve issues such as missed appointments or job-related problems
  • Communicate regularly with customers, providing a high standard of customer service
  • Work collaboratively with managers and system administrators to maintain compliance and system effectiveness
  • Respond dynamically to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Support continuous improvement and personal development activities
  • Ensure all duties are carried out safely and responsibly and in line with service requirements

What you will bring

  • Experience of scheduling appointments and working with office IT systems (e.g. MS Office, work order or scheduling systems such as DRS)
  • Knowledge of gas compliance requirements and ability to apply this in a scheduling environment
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines
  • Proven experience of delivering excellent customer service and communicating effectively with a range of stakeholders
  • Ability to problem solve, make decisions quickly and respond to changing priorities
  • Experience of working collaboratively as part of a team while using initiative when required
  • Relevant qualifications (5 GCSEs including Maths and English or equivalent) or demonstrable experience, with a willingness to learn and develop
