JOB DESCRIPTION – OPEN WATER LIFEGUARD AND LAKE MAINTENANCE

Summer Working Days: Wednesdays-Sundays (Mon/Tues off).
Winter Working Days: Wed-Fri + Sunday mornings.
This role is seasonal, with more and varied hours required during the Summer season and in reaction to events.

A varied role consisting of weeding and maintaining an open water swimming lake and then greeting, briefing and lifeguarding clients for swim and paddlesports activities at a swim training and wellbeing centre.

This role requires someone who can work well on their own as well as in a team. Is confident speaking to groups, preferably holds a lifeguarding qualification and enjoys working outdoors in all weathers. As this role involves working in the lake, you are required to be a confident and strong swimmer.

Experience in lifeguarding preferred.
Experience in groundskeeping, landworking would be preferred.
Experience in maintenance/woodwork would be preferred.

Open Water Lifeguard (overview)

  • Safety briefings
  • Lifeguarding from land and the water
  • Assisting clients into and out of kayaks/sups/boats
  • Timekeeping

Lake Maintenance (overview)

  • Weeding - From edges, From boat deeper areas, wading in, swimming.
  • Islands - Cutting, trimming, weeding o Planting & watering
  • Astroturf - Weeding and sweeping
  • Blue Dye application
  • Pond maintenance and water supply
  • Waterfall maintenance
  • General netting of debris

Furniture and wood maintenance

  • Cleaning, treating and repairs

Grounds and Buildings Maintenance

  • Cleaning, painting, repairs
  • Gardening/Planting

This role will require someone who takes pride in their work, and will keep the venue clean and tidy up to very high standards.

We may consider splitting the role of lifeguard and grounds/lake maintenance - tbd.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Zero hours contract

Pay: £11.44 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
