Have you got experience working with kids? Are you looking for a summer of adventure, fun, and friendship? If you do, you might be a perfect candidate to work at Camp Cooper!

Camp Cooper is the UK's leading American-style overnight summer camp based in Scotland, for children aged 7-17. We began as a small summer camp program in 2013 and have now expanded to three different sites that welcome over 300 campers from over 50 different countries. If this sounds like something that excites you then read on to learn more about working at camp.

The role:

We are looking for kind, caring and awesome individuals to work as Activity Specialists at Camp Cooper. Activity specialists will help run our elective activities - we offer a variety of exciting elective activities that are designed to be fun, engaging, inclusive and skill-building for our campers.

Activities that we require specialists for:

  • Art
  • Sports
  • Football
  • Film Making/Journalism
  • Outdoor Adventure (Fire building, shelter building & outdoor cooking)
  • Dance (modern & hip-hop)
  • Performing arts

Activity specialists will help run a two-hour elective twice a day (once in the morning and once in the afternoon) and you will work alongside residential camp counsellors and follow a set curriculum. As well as ensuring the elective is fun, you will also be required to follow a risk assessment to ensure the activities are safe. All our staff make strong bonds with our campers by providing leadership, and guidance, facilitating friendships and having lots of fun!

Outside of the elective activity work periods, you will also be scheduled to assist with general supervision during downtime and you may be asked to help out with other aspects of camp (more information will be given on this during the interview)

Please note this is NOT a residential role and you will be expected to organise your own travel to the site. We are based at two different sites (Crieff and Dunbar) and you will be based at one site and not expected to work across both. Please ensure if you are using public transport that there are reliable transport links to the site you want to work at.
