Assistant Accommodation Manager – Hub Students Dundee
Salary: £29,000 - £31,000 depending on experience + discretionary bonus
Benefits: Private healthcare, death in service insurance (3x salary), 33 days holiday (incl. Scottish public holidays)
Location: The Hub, 17 Hawkhill, Dundee, DD1 5DL
Reports to: Accommodation Manager
About Hub Students
Hub Students was formed by owners, for owners in 2024 and currently manages 507 ensuite bedrooms across 113 HMO properties, exclusively for students in Dundee.
Originally opening in 2006, The Hub has maintained consistently strong occupancy, a loyal returning resident base, and an unbeatable central location. Our motto reflects who we are:
“Affordable, perfectly located student accommodation in Dundee. We are Hub Students Dundee – and we offer comfort, security, and great value.”
We are now entering a new and exciting phase of reinvestment. In 2024 we launched the largest Lifecycle refurbishment programme in our history, upgrading flats, buildings and resident spaces to future-proof our offering.
We are proud to support local contractors, suppliers, and trades wherever possible.
The Role
We are seeking an organised, proactive and customer-focused Assistant Accommodation Manager to support the Accommodation Manager in the day-to-day running of Hub Students Dundee. This is a hands-on operational role covering resident experience, lettings and bookings, tenancy administration, sales activity, team coordination and site operations.
You will play an important part in converting enquiries, supporting rebooking and retention, keeping tenancy and resident processes running smoothly and ensuring that students receive a responsive, professional service throughout their stay.
Working closely with the Accommodation Manager and the wider site team, you will help coordinate operational priorities, maintain accurate records and provide clear follow-up on actions. You will also deputise for the Accommodation Manager when required, within agreed authority.
The role works closely with the Maintenance team to ensure resident and operational issues are communicated and followed through. Technical maintenance, contractor management, onsite health & safety execution and Lifecycle delivery remain with the Maintenance Manager and relevant technical team.
This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys taking ownership, working with students and colleagues, keeping activity organised and contributing directly to the commercial and operational success of the site.
Key Responsibilities
Resident Experience & Operations
- Support the day-to-day operation of the site, helping ensure services are organised, responsive and resident-focused.
- Act as a visible and approachable point of contact for students, parents and prospective residents, resolving routine issues and escalating where appropriate.
- Support check-ins, check-outs, room allocations, inspections, open days, viewings and peak-period activity.
- Assist with complaints, conduct, welfare and tenancy matters, maintaining appropriate records and following agreed escalation routes.
- Sales, Lettings & Retention
Respond promptly to enquiries and actively follow up prospective residents to support conversion into confirmed bookings.
- Support rebooking and resident-retention activity and help identify opportunities to generate additional bookings and revenue.
- Assist with viewings, referral-partner activity, local marketing initiatives, digital/social content and other agreed sales campaigns.
- Monitor booking and enquiry activity and provide accurate updates to the Accommodation Manager.
Tenancy, Payments & Administration
- Support tenancy administration, deposits, contracts, resident records and communications from booking through departure.
- Support rent and charge collection, promptly follow up failed or overdue payments and escalate arrears in accordance with agreed procedures.
- Assist with damage-charge administration and deposit matters following decisions made under the agreed site process.
Maintain accurate records, databases, correspondence and operational documentation, including StuRents Concurrent or other company systems.
- People & Team Coordination
- Support the Accommodation Manager in coordinating the administration and resident-service team, helping maintain clear priorities and consistent standards.
- Provide practical support, coaching and guidance to colleagues and help ensure actions are followed through.
Deputise for the Accommodation Manager when required and within agreed delegated authority.
- Compliance & Maintenance Coordination
