Maintenance and Aesthetics Manager

Ashdown Garden School

Full Time role 40 hours 52 weeks

Salary Range From: FTE £37,732 – 39,172 dependent on qualifications and experience

This is an exciting opportunity offered by the new Ashdown Garden School, part of Ruskin Mill Trust for a Maintenance and Aesthetics Manager.

The post holder will manage the day-to day maintenance as well as development of the site, always ensuring that any maintenance work is carried out in line with the standards set by the Ruskin Mill Land Trust and to respect the Genius Loci, and environmental needs of the site. The aim and environment is aimed to ensure the therapeutic intention for each individual area/room to benefit the lives of the children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.

The school is aiming to open late 2025 and is based near the Emerson College site near the beautiful Ashdown Forest and the village of Forest Row.

· As part of the maintenance team, to carry out ‘hands on’ maintenance or management of projects as required, this may range from painting and decorating, general repairs, emergency responses, to sympathetically & sensitively maintaining the properties.

· To ensure that works are carried out as agreed and within budget and meet the needs of the school and children’s education.

  • Ensure that compliance of all regulatory laws and guidelines are met and records maintained.
  • To work with the wider Trust Property team that includes, Property Managers, Architects, Energy and Environmental Manager.
  • Relevant Trade Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience of the management of small, medium and large-scale building projects.
  • Clean driving license.
  • Computer literate and able t communicate with a wide range of people
  • Able to work in a collaborative manner with many different teams within the Trust.
  • Able to develop employees through, coaching, mentoring and training.
  • Have excellent communication, organisational and resilience skills
