Job Description – Building Services Engineer (Railway / London Underground)

We are looking for a Building Services Engineer with proven experience working within the railway industry or London Underground. Candidates must have practical, on-site experience delivering building services works within a rail environment, rather than purely design or office-based experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out and oversee hands-on building services installation, maintenance and upgrade works.
  • Work on mechanical and electrical systems within railway stations, depots and other rail infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with contractors, engineers and site teams to ensure works are completed safely and to the required standard.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Ensure all works comply with railway safety procedures, relevant standards and project requirements.
  • Assist with testing, commissioning and fault-finding of building services systems.

Essential Requirements

  • Proven hands-on experience working on railway or London Underground projects is essential.
  • Practical experience with building services installation, maintenance or upgrades.
  • Good knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical building services systems.
  • Experience working on-site within a live railway, station or depot environment.
  • Understanding of railway health and safety procedures and permit-to-work systems.
  • Ability to work as part of a site-based engineering team.

Important: We are specifically looking for someone who has experience within the railway industry or London Underground. General building services experience without rail experience will not be sufficient.

Pay: £400.00 per day
