Full job description

Role: Building Surveyor - Disrepair

Salary: £260 - £280 per day

Location: Bury

Hours: 37 per week, Monday to Friday 8am to 4:30pm

Contract: FTC 3 months minimum

We at Edenvale Recruitment are looking for an experienced Building Surveyor to join our clients team in their housing and repairs department.

Duties to include but not limited to:

  • Carry out inspections and quality checks before, during, and after repair works, including general repairs, planned maintenance, voids, and public buildings.
  • Monitor project progress and report issues to the Repairs or Contracts Manager.
  • Conduct property surveys to identify defects and recommend remedial action in line with housing standards and policies.
  • Prepare specifications for repair works on domestic and public properties.
  • Ensure all health and safety procedures, including risk assessments and method statements, are followed by contractors.
  • Incorporate CDM regulations into project specifications where required.
  • Support project planning and ensure work is delivered to a high standard.
  • Act as deputy for the Repairs or Contracts Manager when needed, liaising with teams and overseeing service delivery.

We are looking for a Building Surveyor with:

  • At least 5 years experience of surveying residential properties and diagnosing faults.
  • A relevant degree.
  • Knowledge and experience of contactor management.
  • The ability to manage and participate in projects from inception to completion.
  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle.
