Full job description

Edwards Diving Services are currently recruiting a Maintenance Engineer to look after our facilities and equipment. Primarily your role will be to carry out maintenance, fault finding and minor installation work on our facilities (building) and service equipment. The role would ensure that all planned preventative maintenance and any associated reactive work keep our facilities and equipment functioning smoothly and compliant to our ISO certified IMS standards.

We are looking for a motivated, experienced and capable individual who can develop and manage our planned preventative maintenance schedule for our facilities and equipment. Experience of working within Building Maintenance and an understanding of PPM requirements for HVAC, central heating, as well as fire & legionella regulation requirements would be an advantage, but is not essential. Ideally with a technical / engineering background, able to conduct reactive and routine maintenance and manage specialist external contractors, as well as assist with the maintenance schedule of our wide ranging equipment to support our operational teams deliver our wide ranging services.

The applicant must be self-motivated and able to work well on their own and in teams, must be a critical and analytical thinker and be able to contribute to problem solving and innovations. A friendly persona willing to help and assist others, which encourages knowledge sharing and understanding for improved fault finding and a team centric approach.

Whilst the role would be predominantly based at our yard, the applicant must be flexible and content to travel to work sites regularly in support of operational teams and to meet the needs of our clients.

Key responsibilities:

- Maintenance of building services and all associated component parts

- Responsible for building repairs, air handling system maintenance, minor electrical, plumbing and carpentry work

- Supervision of contractors to ensure they are following safe systems of work

- Completing all preventative planned maintenance inspections and monitoring including fire, water, gas systems.

- Managing equipment PPM requirements such as LOLER, PUWER, PAT testing etc. for statutory inspection, service & calibration.

- Building security, alarm and CCTV systems management.

Required skills

- Hands on experience of building maintenance, repairs, servicing and monitoring

- Knowledge of maintenance legal requirements, good health & safety knowledge

- Technical / engineering background conducting maintenance at operational / construction sites. + 5 years time served

- Excellent IT skills for PPM schedules, records and reports

- Good verbal and written communication skills

- Interpret schematics, record modifications

- Analytical approach to problem solving

- Motivated, friendly and helpful persona

- Competent IT user, including excel

- Be eligible to live and work in the UK

- Full UK driver’s licence

Preferable Skills, although training will be provided

- Maintenance qualifications - mechanical / electrical / gas

- Understanding of LOLER, PUWER, PAT Testing, Racking Inspections

- Forktruck driver

- Alarm and CCTV systems

Salary and terms will be competitive and negotiable depending on the candidate. All EDS staff benefit from a competitive package including private healthcare and a stakeholder pension.
