About iHus

iHus specialises in the design and construction of high-quality timber-frame residential annexes across the UK

Our projects are delivered within customers’ homes and involve coordinating customers, site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and internal departments from pre-start through to completion

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Junior Construction Project Manager to join our Operations team

The Role

This role is suited to someone with a construction-related qualification or relevant practical construction experience who wants to develop into a Project Manager

You may be a Construction Management graduate, hold an HNC, HND or NVQ in a construction-related discipline, or have experience in site supervision, construction coordination, residential building or another relevant construction role

Working alongside our Operations Manager and experienced Project Managers, you will support the delivery of timber-frame annexe projects from pre-start through construction, completion and customer handover

You will be involved in both office-based project management and regular site visits, working directly with customers, Site Leads, subcontractors and suppliers

As your experience and capability develop, you will take increasing responsibility for managing your own projects

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the planning and delivery of construction projects from pre-start to completion
  • Monitoring projects against agreed build programmes
  • Coordinating site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and deliveries
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications, schedules and project information
  • Attending customer sites to monitor progress, quality and outstanding actions
  • Maintaining regular and professional communication with customers
  • Identifying programme delays, risks and potential issues and escalating them early
  • Supporting labour and resource planning
  • Monitoring material requirements and resolving or escalating shortages
  • Coordinating site access, appointments and deliveries
  • Maintaining accurate project records, actions, dates, photographs and documentation
  • Supporting quality inspections, snagging and pre-handover reviews
  • Recording defects and ensuring actions are followed through to completion
  • Monitoring works against project specifications and the iHus Build Manual
  • Supporting health and safety requirements across allocated projects
  • Supporting the recording and management of project variations
  • Working closely with Operations, Design, Procurement, Production and site teams
  • Helping ensure sites remain safe, organised and professionally presented

About You

To be considered for this role, you should have at least one of the following:

  • A Level 3 or above qualification in Construction, Construction Management, Building, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Site Supervision or a related built-environment discipline

  • Practical construction experience that has given you a good understanding of how construction sites and projects operate

You will also need:

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • The ability to manage multiple actions, priorities and deadlines
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Confidence dealing with customers, trades, subcontractors and site teams
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A practical and solutions-focused approach
  • The confidence to raise concerns and challenge issues where required
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
